Juniper Systems announced the release of the Geode GNS2 Sub-meter GPS Receiver featuring connectivity with a range of iPhone and iPad devices.  This is made possible by the Geode’s new Made For iPhone/iPad (MFi) certification.  The Geode GNS2 retains all the features and connectivity of the original Geode while adding this support for iPhone and iPad.

The Geode is an all-in-one sub-meter receiver that provides users with real-time, precision GNSS data.  The Geode features one-button simplicity and can be used with any of Juniper Systems’ handhelds, as well as a wide range of Windows, Windows Mobile, Android and now iPhone and iPad devices.  This open operating system is particularly useful for bring-your-own-device workplaces.

The Geode features a compact design, and can be carried by hand, in a pack, or mounted on a pole, depending on each user’s unique application.  Like other Juniper Systems’ products, the Geode is built to Juniper Rugged standards for operating in harsh environments.  The receiver has IP68-rated protection against dust and water, and the internal battery provides all-day power.

The release of the Geode GNS2 also brings the Geode Connect app to the App Store.  This release of the Geode’s companion app for iPhone and iPad includes a new battery monitoring function that allows the user to see the battery status of the Geode while in the field.  This also lets the user see the Geode’s charging status while the device is plugged in.
