David Newcomer is a registered Professional Engineer and a registered Professional Land Surveyor with more than 50 years’ experience. He spent 20 years in sales and support for Trimble Navigation and Wild Heerbrugg where he began using the Global Positioning System (GPS) in 1984. He has worked in all phases of land surveying and has retired from his position as Geodetic Advisor to Florida for the National Geodetic Survey. Mr. Newcomer has given many presentations on land surveying and geodesy as well as publishing “GPS as a Fast Surveying Tool” in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Journal of Surveying. He is a Life Member of ASCE.
