The Atlantic Group, a Huntsville, Ala.-based company specializing in remote sensing, surveying and consulting services, has promoted Executive Vice President Brian Mayfield to president and chief operating officer.
In his new role, Mayfield will be responsible for evaluating Atlantic’s operational performance and creating modifications to Atlantic’s business and technical processes.
He is filling the role of former President Patrick Harris, who has been promoted to chief business development officer. In this role, Harris will provide oversight and guidance to Atlantic’s targeted and emerging markets.

Mayfield has nearly 20 years of experience in the mapping industry and holds a number of certifications, including ASPRS-certified photogrammetrist, GISCI-certified GIS professional, South Carolina-licensed GIS boundary photogrammetrist and Virginia licensed surveyor photogrammetrist.
