EMC said in a press release that the Riegl VMX-450 was chosen for its high collection speeds and comprehensive workflow. EMC will utilize it for surveying and mapping of highways, railways, bridges and volumetric surveys. The system is also going to be used for as-built surveying, road and bridge modeling and civil engineering projects.
"Based on our assessment, it is the most advanced mobile mapper in the market today; we are very excited to be adding this instrument to our workforce," said Jake Mattox, EMC's senior vice president.
EMC is a survey company in the disciplines of topographic, hydrographic, geophysical and geodetic survey.
