Greenman-Pederson Appoints Senior Project Manager
Babylon, N.Y. – Jason Stern has joined Greenman-Pedersen (GPI), an engineering and construction services firm, as senior project manager in its Babylon, N.Y. office.
Stern will be responsible for managing structural design projects for the branch’s structural department. His recent accomplishments include project manager for the Willets Point Development Plan Access Modification Report, structural hardening design for various Port Authority of N.Y. and N.J. facilities and rehabilitation of the Willis Avenue Bridge over the Major Deegan Expressway.
Stern has over 16 years of experience on large, complex, multi-discipline transportation projects. His experience includes highway and bridge design, railroad facilities design and in-depth bridge inspections. Also, many of these projects involved environmental components, highway safety, drainage mitigations and coordination with multiple agencies. Stern has served as project manager for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, New York City Economic Development Corporation, New York City and New York State Departments of Transportation, and the MTA Long Island Rail Road, Metro-North and New York City Transit.
Prior to joining Greenman-Pedersen, Stern was with URS in New York City, serving as deputy civil department manager/project manager. He earned an MS in civil engineering from Polytechnic University, and a BS from Pennsylvania State University. He is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Long Island Branch, serving on the board of directors from 2005 to present, and as president for the 2009/2010 term.
