ROCHESTER, N.Y. —The Board of Directors of Erdman Anthony named Curt W. Helman, P.E., CEO in addition to his responsibilities as president. Helman assumes the post most recently held by Russell Bullock, who will remain with the firm as chairman of the Board.
This step is part of a multi-year leadership transition process.
“Erdman Anthony is committed to executing a sound leadership transition,” said Bullock. “Curt has been involved in this transition to CEO for several years, and we are confident in his ability to lead Erdman Anthony to continued growth and success in the future.”
Bullock plans to retire in 2013. At that time the Fairport, N.Y. resident will have served as Chairman and CEO for 17 years and as part of the company for nearly 30 years.
Helman was named President in November 2011. During the past 13 years, he has served as a senior vice president in charge of Erdman Anthony’s Construction Services Support Division and has grown that division into the largest group in the company. The Mechanicsburg, Pa., resident holds a B.S. in Structural Design and Construction Engineering Technology from The Pennsylvania State University.
Erdman Anthony developed this leadership transition plan several years ago in anticipation of Bullock’s retirement.
“Erdman Anthony is blessed with a strong group of future leaders who have demonstrated their dedication to our organization,” said Bullock. “We will continue to grow and develop these leaders in support of our desire to promote from within, whenever possible.”
Helman will maintain offices in each of the firm’s two largest employee centers, in Harrisburg, Pa., as well as in the firm’s headquarters in Rochester, N.Y.
“I am fortunate to be part of an outstanding team at Erdman Anthony,” said Helman. “We are all partners in each other’s success.”
The firm recently completed a major strategic planning effort that included comprehensive consideration of its foundational objectives for the next five years.
“The objectives are built on the vision for Erdman Anthony that is top tier in every way,” said Helman. “They emphasize our commitment to our employees, our clients, our communities and our profession. Our pursuit of that vision will lead us to new service markets and geographies.”
The firm most recently opened an office in Portland, Maine, and has a total of eight offices on the east coast.
