Drone World Expo Will Shed Light On Cinematography
DJI director of aerial imaging will lead session on innovative drone-powered imaging
Creative aerial imaging has been driving mass adoption of camera drones and Eric Cheng, director of aerial imaging at DJI and general manager of DJI SF, will lead a dynamic session at the upcoming Drone World Expo focusing on this new innovation in cinematography. The session, “Getting the Shot: Innovative Imagery & Filmmaking Using Drones,” will take place the opening morning of Drone World Expo, on Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the San Jose Convention Center.
"Cinematography is in the early stages of a new aerial imaging renaissance, and we are excited to bring the newest information to Drone World Expo attendees," Cheng says.
During the session, attendees will hear from industry experts about the latest innovations and techniques being used to create extraordinary photography, video and film via drone. Moderated by Cheng, who is also on the Drone World Expo Advisory Board, the session also features Renee Lusano, creative/lifestyle/travel photographer; Andy Putch, co-founder of FreeSkies; Drew Roberts, founder and pilot of Wild Rabbit Productions; and Randy Scott Slavin, founder of Yeah Drones. They will discuss the exciting technology that is changing so quickly and opening up new possibilities at an incredible rate.
"I am looking forward to showcasing some of the incredible video and film we have been able to capture as a result of our work with drones. Drone World Expo is one of the best curated events in the industry and Wild Rabbit Productions is excited to be a part of it," Roberts says.
Drone World Expo has several media and association partners in video and film including Sound & Picture, American Cinematographer, The Society of Aerial Cinematographers, United States Association of Unmanned Aerial Videographers (UAVUS) and Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE).
Each day of Drone World Expo will kick off with a keynote presentation, followed by a full day of panels and case studies. The exhibit hall will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18. A networking reception on the show floor will take place the last hour of the expo each day. E
