MAPPS Accepting Entries For 2016 Excellence Awards
Judges will evaluate projects from member firms in eight different categories
The national association of private-sector geospatial firms is accepting entries for its 9th Annual Geospatial Products and Services Excellence Awards.
The MAPPS Excellence Awards exemplify the professionalism, value, integrity and achievement of MAPPS member firms as demonstrated over the previous year. A panel of five judges will evaluate the submitted projects from eight categories:
- Airborne and satellite data acquisition
- Photogrammetry/elevation data generation
- Remote sensing
- Surveying/field data collection
- Small projects
- Technology innovation
- Licensed data products
The panel will review each submission and select a winner for each category. The Grand Award will be presented from the category award winners to represent the MAPPS Project of the Year.
Winners will be announced at the 2016 MAPPS Winter Conference in Las Vegas, Nev. The deadline for entries is Oct. 31, 2015. Click here to learn how to submit.
The Management Association for Private Photogrammetic Surveyors based in Reston, Va. and formed in 1982, MAPPS is the only national association of firms in the surveying, spatial data and GIS fields. MAPPS member firms are engaged in surveying, photogrammetry, satellite and airborne remote sensing, aerial photography, hydrography, aerial and satellite image processing, GPS, and GIS data collection and conversion services. Associate members are engaged in the manufacturing and/or supplying of geospatial equipment, services, supplies, hardware or software to geospatial services firms, many of which are MAPPS member firms.
