2015 ASPRS UAS Symposium Open for Registration
Slated to feature test flights, UAS data processing, workshops
The second annual technical UAS symposium, sponsored by the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), is officially open for registration. The educational event will take place Sept. 29-30 in Reno, Nev.
This year’s program will showcase UAS in operation, including flights of UAS mapping calibration test courses for the validation and accuracy assessment of UAS sensor payloads. General technical sessions will focus on the mapping and remote sensing aspects of unmanned acquisitions with the goals of providing practical information on UAS flight planning, acquisition, data processing and map production.
Speakers from around the world will discuss present and developing UAS applications. Academia and research institutions will inform on existing educational and training opportunities. Survey, mapping and engineering firms will share experience and further UAS implementation strategies. Government agencies will share information on the development of national and international mapping programs.
More than 560 attendees and 60 exhibitors attended last year’s event. This year the turnout is expected to grow. Attendees are encouraged to register sooner rather than later, as rates will increase on Aug. 15.
ASPRS is a scientific non-profit association with a mission to advance knowledge and improve understanding of mapping sciences, to promote the responsible applications of photogrammetry, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and supporting technologies.
