Dewberry has appointed James Bennett associate vice president and manager of the firm’s Gainesville, Va. office. Bennett has been in the business of consulting, design services and development in Virginia for more than three decades.
“I am excited to join Dewberry and such a passionate team. I look forward to leading the Gainesville office in delivering superior quality service,” Bennett says.
The professional engineer will be responsible for management and oversight of the full-service engineering, planning and surveying operations based in Gainesville.
Most recently, he served as vice president of land planning, design, development and construction at Jamestown Management Company. One of his latest projects included the master plan/land plan, site engineering, development construction and architectural coordination of a 15,000-square-foot clubhouse for the Settlement at Powhatan Creek Active Adult Community. He was also involved in the construction of an 18-hole championship golf course, clubhouse expansion and three support facilities for the Williamsburg National Golf Club “Yorktown” Course.
Bennett has a bachelor’s degree in in civil engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
