Virginia Association of Surveyors Appoints Palatiello Management
The move to John M. Palatiello & Associates, Inc. (JMP&A) took effect Jan. 1. "We are thrilled to hand the reins over to JMP&A," said John Sehl, President of the Virginia Association of Surveyors (VAS). "The firm brings an abundance of experience in association management and expertise in the surveying profession."
JMP&A will provide association management, financial management, member communications, public and media relations services, education, and conference planning and coordination services. "We look forward to working with VAS and working to grow and enhance the association," said Palatiello. His team will also work with the society to develop government affairs strategies.
"We needed to explore the possibility that a change in style at VAS could be a good thing," said Will Nash, VAS Past President. "JMP&A is the firm to steer us in the right direction."
Palatiello will serve as the executive director for VAS, succeeding Judy Hite, who has been executive secretary of VAS for 33 years. "Judy has been a legend in the Virginia surveying community, and it has been my pleasure to work with her for many years," said Palatiello. "She leaves a remarkable legacy that we hope to build upon." Hite will continue to serve VAS for a transition until Feb. 20.
The Virginia Association of Surveyors was established in 1948 to promote the interests and professional development of surveyors licensed in the Commonwealth.
