Riegl has developed a survey-grade unmanned aircraft system (UAS) LiDAR sensor, the VUX-1.

Designed to handle emerging surveying solutions by UAS, the VUX-1 weighs less than nine pounds (four kilograms). The LiDAR sensor has a 300-degree field of

Internal storage offers the ability to collect data for several hours at altitudes up to 1,000 feet.

Applications include agricultural and forestry, defense, wide area mapping, flood zone mapping, glacier and snowfield mapping, topography and mapping, and academic markets.
