Topcon Donates Equipment to Dublin Institute of Technology
Donation helped kickoff tech labs for surveying, optometry students.
Topcon Corporation has donated technology equipment to the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT).
According to a press release from Topcon, the donation is worth more than $500,000 and was made as part of the company’s education partnering initiative.
Ray O’Connor, president and CEO of Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS), and senior managing executive officer with Topcon Corporation, launched the two technology labs for surveying and optometry students on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at two DIT campuses.
Following the presentation, O’Connor received an honorary membership of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland at their annual conference in Dublin. In 2012, DIT conferred the award of Honorary Doctorate on O’Connor, a native of Ireland and a DIT graduate.
