Integrity Mobile GIS Now Available on iPhone and iPad
August 1, 2012
Maryville, Mo. – Midland GIS Solutions announced the release of Integrity Mobile GIS for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. This new mobile platform provides a way for anyone to utilize and view GIS data whenever and wherever they need to. At the 2012 Integrity User’s Conference, held on Thursday, July 12th, they announced that the demo version of Integrity Mobile GIS was currently available in the App Store for free download.
Integrity Mobile provides GIS users with the unique ability to manage, analyze and maintain their GIS data anywhere, anytime on an iOS device. Its forthcoming disconnected mode (early Fall 2012) allows users to take their GIS data into the field, regardless of internet accessibility, and perform maintenance in real time without any reliance on a data signal. Once they've finished with updates, they can seamlessly sync new or updated feature data once they've reconnected to a wireless source (Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, 4GLte, etc.).
Similar to the desktop version of Integrity developed with ArcGIS Server and Silverlight, mobile users can easily measure by length or area and adjust units on the fly. Selecting map features in a geographic area is also simple - just tap the screen to select an area and push 'Find Map Features' to quickly see the data for all the features located within. The app lets users adjust the visibility of map layers, toggle on or off certain map services and generally tailor their dynamic map to their exact needs. Pictures or videos attached to map features are examples of the types of rich data users can access through this app: photo galleries of a property, smooth-stream sewer video of a gravity main being inspected and anything else imaginable.
Smart searches are incredibly important when it comes to putting GIS data to proper use in mobile environments. Integrity Mobile GIS preserves this ideal by allowing users to search and identify features across designated map layers. Search for 'Owens' and you can choose to include not only parcels owned by 'Owens', but roads named 'Owens', dynamic work orders assigned to field technicians with the last name 'Owens' and so on.
The iOS version of Integrity will continue to help counties, municipalities and facilities unleash their GIS data - increasing daily efficiencies in workflow and operational awareness to an even greater level.
