Boston Chamber Announces Winners of 2012 "˜Small Business of the Year' Awards
Now in its 28th year, the Chamber’s Small Business of the Year Awards recognize the achievements of Greater Boston’s smaller for-profit companies with gross revenues of more than $1 million who display strong financial performance, achievement in management, workplace excellence, product innovation, and community or social responsibility.
“The Chamber is delighted to honor Greater Boston’s ‘Top 10’ small businesses of 2012 and pay tribute to the significant impact that small businesses have on our regional economy,” said Paul Guzzi, president and CEO of the Greater Boston Chamber. “This year’s honorees truly represent the entrepreneurial spirit, focus on excellence and commitment to the community that define our region’s small business community, and we look forward to honoring them on Oct. 11.”
The 2012 Small Business of the Year, Meridian Associates, is a consulting firm that offers civil engineering, 3D laser scanning and survey, landscape architecture, and renewable energy and sustainability consulting services. These services encompass the complete land development and infrastructure consulting process from initial programming studies, feasibility analysis, technical due-diligence, land planning, site and infrastructure design, permitting and construction layout to final compliance certification. The firm has provided services to projects all over the world, and is currently focused on growing its 3D laser scanning and renewable energy services. Meridian is also committed to giving back to the community, and in 2011, the firm donated more than $30,000 to various charities. Founded in 1990, Meridian is headquartered in Beverly, Mass., with offices in Westborough, Mass., and four other states.
