Overland Park, Kan. – AeroMetric hired Scott Perkins as vice president of business development for Federal programs. Perkins brings over 30 years of experience to this position.

Prior to joining AeroMetric, Perkins was president of T-Kartor USA, an international company involved in developing and managing geospatial and cartographic software solutions. Perkins spent over two decades at Western Air Maps, a geospatial mapping company, advancing from technician to owner. When Western Air Maps was sold to Wilson & Company, a national engineering consulting firm, Perkins became an associate vice president involved in geospatial business development nationwide.

Perkins, a certified GIS professional, has been a long-time member of MAPPS where he recently completed an eight year term on the national board of directors and has been the recipient of the MAPPS Presidential Award for Service. Perkins is currently secretary and treasurer of the ASPRS Central Region, and has earned an ASPRS Presidential Citation for Service to the organization.

Marvin Miller, AeroMetric's senior vice president for business development said, "We are very pleased to have Scott return to our firm. He learned the fundamentals with us as a college graduate, and now rejoins us as a seasoned professional. His wide variety of experience includes over 25 years serving Federal agencies such as the Corps of Engineers, NOAA, the Department of Agriculture, and the Departments of Energy and Fish and Wildlife. Scott knows our profession from the ground up and will continue our tradition of serving our Federal clients with practical, on-target geospatial solutions.”

“I joined AeroMetric in 1981 as a photogrammetric technician after graduating from Ferris State University’s inaugural class of the Photogrammetric Mapping Technology program. My experience at AeroMetric as a kid fresh out of college was amazing, and I always felt a debt of gratitude for the training and opportunity I was given. Now, I am excited to be back and look forward to contributing to AeroMetric’s continued success,” said Perkins.

Perkins has also held two Federal appointments. In 2011, he completed a four year term on the SBA’s Office of the National Ombudsman Regulatory Fairness Board, and currently serves as vice chair on the NOAA Hydrographic Services Review Panel, a Federal Advisory Committee.  He can be reached at sperkins@aerometric.com.
