LIVERMORE, Calif. – July 24, 2012 –Topcon Positioning Systems’ (TPS) Argentinean distributor Geosistemas is now offering the IP-S2 HD mobile mapping system. Geosistemas is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and will have the IP-S2 available beginning in July.

Topcon's IP-S2 HD integrates high-density 3D LiDAR data with digital imagery and its advanced technology is changing the way data is collected and managed. The system simplifies the GIS data collection process by collecting enormous amounts of detailed 3D data in one pass eliminating re-visits to the field.

The company’s business plan is twofold: Geosistemas will act as a sales agent for the IP-S2 HD, and the company will provide collection services, hardware sales and technical services for customers and agencies that need comprehensive 3D data.

The dealer/service provider model will enable the company to serve a wide range of Argentinian mapping needs. Fernando Gomez, business development manager of Geosistemas, said, "An innovative technology like IP-S2 HD can do the work of several survey tools simultaneously, all while in constant motion with an accuracy and speed according to the requirements of immediacy and urgent results demanded by information technology and modern society.”

Fernando Sanchez Eijo, commercial director of Geosistemas, said “Now, Argentinean surveyors, engineers, and geospatial professionals will benefit with the introduction in our country of Topcon’s IP-S2 mobile data capture system. The IP-S2 will accurately and efficiently record high density 3D models for inventory, inspection, encroachment analysis and asset management or as-built data for projects of all types and sizes, while keeping up with an ambitious schedule."
