FARO’s European User Meeting for laser scanning and 3D
documentation will take place on May 22-23, 2012 in Schloss Sihlberg in Zurich (Switzerland).
The event forms a platform for the interdisciplinary exchange of ideas about
forward-looking measuring methods and current development and trends in 3D
documentation. The program provides detailed presentations and in-depth
workshops as well as extensive networking about the wide-ranging opportunities
of 3D documentation.
Numerous expert speakers plan on attending the event; for
example, Cardaci from the University of Bergamo will be talking about
"Civil & Architecture", and architect Johannes Rechenbach will be
bringing along some new examples from his everyday working life, showing how
point clouds recorded with laser scanners can be used in Revit Architecture and
make planning processes faster and more accurate. Also, Ulrich Völter from
Intermetric GmbH will address 3D documentation in engineering and architecture.
With an expanded range of workshops, the organizers responded to the participant’s
request last year to have more time available for individual key topics. FARO
will also place more emphasis this year on the topics of "learning"
and know-how transfer. There will also be the opportunity for attendees to
present their own topics and projects to other participants.
Accompanying the lectures and workshops, there will also be
insights into new topics and 3D documentation technologies. Current developments
in hardware and software solutions will be demonstrated in live presentations.
