New
technologies and productive workflows for both airborne and mobile LiDAR
will be the focus of RIEGL LiDAR 2012 at the Hilton Orlando in
Orlando, Fla., Feb. 28-March 1. “The conference will provide RIEGL users
and non-users alike an exciting opportunity to participate collectively as an
integral part of the RIEGL community,” said James Van Rens, president
of RIEGL USA.
Dr. Johannes
Riegl, president of RIEGL Laser Management Systems, will attend to
personally meet with the RIEGL community of users. Keynote speaker Dr.
Andreas Ullrich, CTO of RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems, will offer
his perspective on LiDAR technology. Other presentations will be given
by RIEGL personnel, hardware and software partners, and users. A lively
panel discussion on the future of LiDAR and the mapping and surveying
community circa 2030 is also being planned. “The conference will provide an
insightful look on the growth of the LiDAR industry and its evolving
capability, challenging industry requirements and future expectations,”
Van Rens said. “The event will enhance the ‘best practices’ of
the RIEGL community and will provide attendees with new skills,
understanding and business relationships.”
