NORCROSS, Ga - All versions of Carlson SurvCE 2.56 and later now have updated drivers and feature sets available to work on the Leica CS10 and CS15 field controllers. “We think this will be a very popular combination,” says Bruce Carlson, president of Carlson Software, “Leica Viva with SurvCE.”

Carlson SurvCE is a complete data collection system for Real Time (RTK) GPS and total stations with in-field coordinate geometry. SurvCE, which combines advanced functionality, ease-of-use, and robust capability supports the widest range of popular and new release RTK GPS and conventional/robotic total stations.

When installed on the CS10 or CS15 controllers, SurvCE enables users to interface with the Leica GS10 and GS15 GNSS receivers as well as robotically with the Viva TS instruments for any surveying task. The Viva GS receivers provide exchangeable communication devices for field base stations and RTK, a fully scalable sensor, an integrated web server and more. The Leica Viva TS robotics combine the world’s best total station sensors: angles, distances, drives and the patented PowerSearch target recognition camera.

“The Viva GNSS and total stations work specifically with the CS10 and CS15 field controllers from Leica Geosystems,” adds Carlson. “These field controllers are the fastest we’ve seen to date. With the sharp VGA high-res screens, speed and expanded storage, there is a real crispness of operation, both graphically and with large data sets. It pushes the pace of fieldwork to a new level.”

“The addition of Carlson Software to Leica Viva’s software options allows users to perfect their work flow,” notes Andrew Hurley, Leica Geosystems’ business manager of geomatics for the NAFTA region. “Now, tools provided by Carlson can be used with the precision instruments from the Leica Viva series.”

Users of Carlson SurvCE are encouraged to visit the Leica Geosystems dealer near them to see all the advanced features of the Leica Viva series. Those already utilizing Leica Viva GNSS CS10 or CS15 or the Leica Viva TS15 are also invited to explore using Carlson SurvCE as their data collection software.
