Mark Thomas & Company, a Northern California-based surveying, civil and structural engineering firm headquartered in San Jose, Calif., announced that it has recently merged operations with MTS Engineers, an Orange County-based civil and structural engineering firm. MTS Engineers, Inc. has officially adopted the Mark Thomas & Company name. The leadership and staff at MTS have delivered more than $1.2 billion in transportation projects in Southern California for the last decade. As the project manager, Leonard Sequeira has delivered recent and notable/award winning projects such as the I-5 Gateway, I-405/I-605 HOV Connector, and the Placentia Avenue Grade Separation. MTS staff have also worked on Design-Build projects, including SR-22 and SR-241/SR-261 in Orange County.
With the merger, Mark Thomas & Company, In., is now approaching 200 transportation professionals throughout 9 offices in California.
“Our goal all along was to combine engineering and technical resources to better serve transportation and public works clients throughout California, with a deeper bench of exceptional, experienced staff,” said Mike Lohman, president. “This effort has exceeded our expectations and allows us to grow the Mark Thomas & Company name throughout Southern California.”
“From an operations perspective, we were already working seamlessly as one company. From a business perspective, it made sense to merge, to capitalize on our local knowledge while building on the long history of success that the Mark Thomas & Company brand brings to the engineering industry,” stated Leonard Sequeira, former President of MTS, and now Principal and Regional Division Manager responsible for Mark Thomas & Company’s Southern California operations.
