software suite.
Merrick & Company, a world leader in
light detection and ranging (LiDAR), digital orthophotography, hyperspectral
mapping, and geographic information systems (GIS) data integration, is pleased
to announce the release of Version 7.0 of the Merrick Advanced Remote Sensing
(MARS) software suite. The MARS software suite provides comprehensive
support for LiDAR point cloud visualization, data management, automated
processing, quality control, and geospatial data production.
“Our new release builds on the foundation
of Version 6.0 and adds many new functions that directly support the end-user.
In addition to the optimization of MARS® for 64-bit operating
systems, we’ve built an automated quality control (QC) module that allows users
to verify a LiDAR dataset’s compliance to the United States Geological Survey’s
v13 LiDAR specification. We’ve also added support for Open Geospatial
Consortium’s Web Map Service (WMS), improved data navigation performance and
enhanced our breakline compilation capabilities,” stated Matt Bethel, Manager
of Systems Engineering of Merrick’s GeoSpatial Solutions group.
The newest version of MARS will be demonstrated publicly
for the first time at the International LiDAR Mapping Forum (ILMF) to be held
in New Orleans, Louisiana from
Feb. 7 - 9, 2011 at the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel. MARS software demonstrations will be conducted at Merrick
& Company’s exhibit at ILMF (Booth #42). Additional
product information and a free, 30-day trial software download is available at www.merrick.com/MARS.
