Optech
Incorporated, a leading manufacturer of advanced lidar survey instruments, is pleased to
announce that the second Innovative Lidar Solutions Conference
(ILSC) will be held in Toronto on May 31 - June 3, 2011. An initial call for presentations
has been issued.
The
broad acceptance of lidar data as an essential tool for 3D modeling, mapping
and analysis is fostering expanded use into new application spaces, including
railway asset management efforts, long-range glacial modeling from static
sensors, and ISR initiatives via UAV platforms. ILSC 2011 represents an open
forum for industry professionals to discuss best practices and explore
real-world lidar solutions. Topics of special interest will include new methods
for maximizing project accuracies, application-specific sensor designs and
exploring the challenges of delivering data to a dynamic spatial-information marketplace.
“Our
previous ILSC was a huge success, both for our clients and for us,” said Brent
Gelhar, Vice President, Sales and Strategy. “Change is very rapid in our
industry, and a forum that focuses on practical solutions to problems rather
than academic discussion is a real benefit to our existing and potential
clients. Optech's airborne, static and mobile lidar systems are now
well-integrated with camera and imaging survey workflows, so we're excited to
have a chance to explore real-world issues more deeply. The focus of this
conference is to communicate.”
Both
users and potential users of Optech technologies are welcome to submit abstracts.
You are also welcome to register if you simply wish to attend to learn more
about the role of lidar in solving your surveying needs.
