LIVERMORE, Calif. – Topcon Positioning Systems announces
Diogo Martins is the new Topcon regional survey sales manager for Latin America.
Martins began his new position July 1. Denny Welch, senior vice president for
the Survey Business Unit, said, “Diogo brings a wealth of knowledge and
experience with him and we are excited to have him on our team.”
Martins has a degree in Civil Engineering and
Surveying and gained extensive experience in topographical surveying,
construction and product management before joining Topcon dealer Santiago &
Cintra where he worked for 15 years.
Welch said, “Bringing someone onto our team with the
education, training and experience that Diogo has is exciting in itself but he
brings a level of product knowledge, gained from years of experience as a Topcon
partner, that is an absolute positive for Latin America. We are confident that
Diogo will put his wealth of knowledge and background in the business to work
for our dealers, helping them reach a new level of success.”
Martins worked in several positions
during his 15 years at Santiago & Cintra. His first two years included work
on the support team, conducting training on total stations, GPS receivers and
topographic software. He then worked a year selling rotating laser levels for
building construction, one year as a sub-dealer, four years as branch office
manager, and the following six years as sales manager for surveying and
construction products. His last position with Santiago & Cintra was as sales
manager for high-end products.
Martins most recently worked as the
business development director for Char Pointer Engineering, specializing in
monitoring, laser scanning, subways jobs and rail surveys.
Martins said
of his new position, “It is an honor to work for Topcon and become a member of
this family. I hope to contribute to the success of this great company and to
help our customers grow using our products.”
