LIVERMORE, Calif. – Topcon Positioning Systems
announced that it recently signed a data license agreement with Autodesk, Inc.,
a world leader in 2D and 3D design, engineering and entertainment software.
The agreement authorizes Autodesk to use Topcon’s IP-S2 3D Mobile
Mapping System data sets in the advertising, marketing, training and
distribution of their software where desired. The IP-S2 datasets are in the form
of extensive geo-referenced, colorized point clouds.
Topcon is a member
of the Autodesk Developer Network, and provides sample data to assist in
targeted software product development.
The IP-S2 features dual-frequency
GNSS tracking, high-accuracy IMU integration and odometry for fast, safe data
collection at a cost well below conventional ground mapping
methods.
Typical applications of the IP-S2 are:
-- 3D Mobile
mapping and surveying;
-- Roadway condition assessments;
-- Pipelines,
Railways, Utility Corridors, Waterways;
-- Homeland Security; and
--
Disaster Management.
