Daily Herald-Tribune- The last major land rush in North America before the First World War happened in the County of Grande Prairie 100 years ago after Walter McFarlane and his crew surveyed the area.

This allowed families to legally live on the land.

To mark the survey’s centennial, the county will host a number of activities during the summer, which were unveiled yesterday at Evergreen Park.

Reeve Everett McDonald said he is excited about the upcoming celebrations.
