ORLANDO, Fla. – Lochrane is proud to have been a part of the major interchange project at I-4 and SR 408 (East-West Expressway) in Downtown Orlando, a project that has just been recognized at the 2009 Central Florida Engineer’s Week Banquet as the Engineering Project of the Year. Lochrane provided professional surveying support including design surveys for drainage facilities and underground utility location for the design of the project in conjunction with the Orlando Expressway Authority and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
The I-4/SR 408 Interim Interchange project, which has been Central Florida’s largest roadway project to date, began construction in April 2006 and ended in November 2008. The $119 million project added a flyover ramp from each direction of SR 408 to eastbound Interstate 4 enhancing safety and traffic flow.
