Carlson Desktop Solutions announces their position as the first U.S. based
reseller of the APS-3 GPS receivers from Altus Positioning Systems. Altus
Positioning, a California based company founded by industry veteran Neil Vancans
enters the market with a new dual frequency GPS receiver that includes internal
radio AND internal GSM modem standard. The compact APS-3 utilizes GPS and
GLONASS satellites and needs only a Bluetooth connection to a Carlson SurvCE
data collector to become a fully functioning rover or base. CDS is expanding its
coverage of the United States and will distribute the product to a number of
strategic areas.
“After heavy testing and direct contact with the
development team from Altus we feel the product is solid and ready for the
market. This is a great option for anyone currently using Carlson SurvCE. A GPS
network rover or traditional base-rover pair is now a much more affordable step,
especially for current SurvCE users.” says Paul Carlson, President of Carlson
Desktop Solutions.
“ The team at CDS is well acquainted with the creation
of efficient survey solutions because of their vision of the survey process from
data collection to the delivery of 2 and 3d Data products. They are an obvious
choice for Altus as a partner. As one of the US’s largest distributors of Survey
Software products Carlson Desktop is an ideal partner to launch the APS-3.” ,
says Neil Vancans, President of Altus Positioning.
