Brookfield, Wis. - R.A. Smith National (formerly R.A. Smith &
Associates and its National Survey & Engineering Division) - civil engineering, planning, surveying, landscape
architecture, GIS and 3D visualization consultants - Brookfield, Wis., provided
pro bono surveying services, including a plat of survey and construction
staking, for the Wisconsin Trend Home, a philanthropic undertaking of the
Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA) Foundation and members of Metropolitan
Builders Association (MBA).
The purpose of the Wisconsin Trend Home project is to
build an environmentally sensitive home with the technologies and features that
should be prevalent in a home in the year 2020. The Wisconsin Trend Home is
located in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Construction will be completed
the first week of August. A donor preview night is scheduled for Friday, August
8. The home will be open to the public beginning Saturday, August 16.
The
WBA Foundation will use the home to educate builders and the public throughout Wisconsin on the core
elements that are included in this home. Some of the unique features include
the first residential application in Wisconsin
of a gray water reuse system; a rainwater catchment system; solar hot water
system; and more.
