After a century in business, Ottawa's oldest land surveying firm, Farley, Smith and Denis Surveyors, is still going strong--and grossing approximately $1.4 million annually.
Much has changed since Sidney Farley began laying out Ottawa in 1908, but the firm he started is still thriving, as Kelly Roesler writes.

OTTAWA - Nearly 30 years ago, Ottawa land surveyor Sidney Farley, still practising at 93, remarked on how radically the cityscape - and the times - had changed, and how everything was "so different."
It's hard to imagine what he might have made of the fact that the company he founded with his father in a Hull suburb recently celebrated its 100th anniversary.
