Toronto, Canada, June 9, 2006- Darling Environmental & Surveying, Ltd. (DES) has chosen Optech Incorporated as the vendor of choice for their newest 3D laser scanner purchase. Richard Darling, President of DES, made the decision to buy from Optech after seeing a demonstration of Optech's ILRIS-3 6D (Intelligent Laser Ranging and Imaging System) at the SPAR conference in Houston, Texas, this past March. Mr. Darling was impressed by ILRIS-36D's accurate data, long-range capabilities, and reduced noise levels in short-range data, which were exactly what his company was looking for.
The new ILRIS-3 6D, delivered on April 20, 2006, will enable DES to provide fast, accurate data to their clients in the applications such as civil infrastructure surveys, drainage modeling, city modeling and urban planning, roadway/bridge measurement and modeling, topographical mapping, archaeology and cultural heritage documentation, crime scene documentation and structural / facilities as-built representation.
"The decision by DES again emphasizes the ILRIS advantage in accuracy, dynamic measuring range, speed and versatility. This is especially true when such an experienced and visible user of three-dimensional laser measuring systems makes a key decision to adopt Optech's technology," said Brent Gelhar, Director of Optech's Industrial & 3D Imaging Division. "The SPAR conference turned out to be a great networking opportunity for us this year. It was a chance for us to shake hands with Richard Darling and confirm the details of DES's purchase."
"Optech's ILRIS-36D is the most functionally versatile laser scanner that we have seen on the market to date," said Richard Darling, President of DES. "The ILRIS-36D brings a great deal of depth to the services that we offer. We have been very impressed with the data we are getting in both long-range and short-range applications." This latest purchase by Darling Environmental & Surveying, Ltd. is evidence of ILRIS-36D's growing presence in the lidar market.
