Maysville, KY -- Carlson Software is pleased to announce that Carlson Civil 2007 is now shipping. Carlson Civil 2007 is the next generation of the product line formerly called SurvCADD that dates back to 1989. The new release delivers increased productivity to customers by including over 50 new commands and 150 improved commands across the program spectrum comprised of survey, site and road design, hydrology and GIS. Carlson Civil 2007 works with AutoCAD 2007 and previous releases.

"Carlson Civil 2007 takes several new steps in civil design software automation with breakthrough tools, states David Carlson, Executive Vice President of Product Development. He continues, While our focus with this release was major new features, we also added many enhancements based on customer input to existing core routines."

New feature highlights include dynamic road networks with integrated intersection and cul-de-sac design, dynamic storm sewer networks with DTM based automatic drainage areas, mass haul analysis to report optimized earthwork movement by distance ranges, automatic point label overlap avoidance, deed reader to extract line/curve data from deed text and coordinate file history. The new Point Clouds module registers, views, decimates and filters laser scan data, and generates models as well as layerized linework and points. Improvements to existing commands include changes to Field-to-Finish for point groups by code, 3D Face coding for structures and an inspector to review coding results in the drawing, edit code descriptions and update. A complete list of new and improved features is available at www.carlsonsw.com/civil.

All customers on the Carlson Maintenance Plan will automatically receive their upgrade to Carlson Civil 2007 in the next few weeks. The Maintenance Plan guarantees the customer will always have the latest version of the software. The cost of the Maintenance Plan is determined by the number of Carlson modules the customer owns and is renewable annually.
