Autodesk Inc. unveiled updates to AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk Map 3D, AutoCAD Raster Design 2008 and Autodesk Design Review 2008. AutoCAD Civil 3D updates feature an enhanced multi-user environment for work on larger, more complex projects; interactive design capabilities and feature automation for greater productivity; increased survey functionality; and interoperability and migration for multiple data formats, including Google Earth mapping functionality and the DWF file specification. Map 3D updates include faster access to data using FDO data access technology; the capacity for powerful analysis and visualization of CAD and GIS data; and enhanced interoperability with other AutoCAD-based applications. AutoCAD Raster Design 2008 helps users streamline access to scanned paper drawings, maps, aerial photos and similar digital design data. The 2008 update offers more options for inclusion of imagery in multiple formats; tools for faster conversion and verification; and image capture for improved interoperability with Map 3D 2008. Autodesk Design Review enables extensive collaboration on both 2D and model-based information. New capabilities include new and enhanced design review capabilities for non-CAD users; improved automation of design information with field data; geo-referenced maps and connection to GPS devices; and increased productivity for viewing, printing and searching designs.
