The purpose of the project was to provide imagery for emergecy response and damage assessment. The project area consisted of 3,200 square miles along the coast of Florida, from Fort Pierce to the southern-most portion of the Florida Keys. This imagery will allow for the visual indication of damages areas and quantify the degree of damage (heavy, moderate, light) within those areas.
Photo Science provided rapid-response flight mission planning and collection of digital natural color imagery at a GSD of 12" pixel resolution utilizing GPS/IMU technology to support control acquisition. This rapid-response support to the federal govenrment was achieved in "near real time", meaning that rectified single image tiles were delivered within 24 hours after raw image collection.
