Home » ILRIS-3DMC Motion Compensation option for Optech's ILRIS-3D
Toronto, Canada, October 10th, 2006 - Optech Incorporated announces the release of an additional feature for its ILRIS-3D laser scanner, the Motion Compensation option. This option increases the scanner's functionality in difficult environments.
Motion Compensation enables the connectivity of selected position and orientation systems to ILRIS-3D. As a result, ILRIS-3D can now output accurate, georeferenced data from dynamic platforms such as boats and many other mobile vehicles. "This option will allow our users to collect data from moving platforms, increasing efficiency and addressing applications that were impossible before. Imagine sailing along the coast and scanning the shoreline, for example," says Brent Gelhar,Director of Lidar Technologies at Optech. "Motion Compensation willgreatly benefit the lidar industry and open many new opportunities for growth and expansion. Our scientists continue to push the technologyenvelope to help our Optech owners and operators maximize their returnon investment."
