NovaLIS Technologies, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, appointed Gary Waters as president. Waters previously worked at ESRI Inc., Redlands, Calif., as regional manager for its Charlotte, N.C., office.

The Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors (PSLS) selected Donald H. Kamp, PLS, PP, CP of BAE SYSTEMS ADR, Pennsauken, N.J., as Surveyor of the Year for 2000. Kamp is BAE’s operation manager.

The California Land Surveyors Association (CLSA) installed Patrick Tami as president and Ray Mathe as secretary. Tami is the manager of surveying and mapping for RBF Consulting’s (RBF) Walnut Creek, Calif., office and Mathe is project surveyor in RBF’s Temecula, Calif., office.

Autodesk Inc., San Rafael, Calif., acquired Gentry Systems, Webster Groves, Mo., a supplier of specialized software tools and services. Autodesk gains software capabilities intended to strengthen its GIS solution in the electric utilities industry, such as job estimating, electric network design calculations, physical design calculations and more.

M.J. Harden Associates Inc., Kansas City, Mo., promoted Brett Baker to aerial imaging manager, Matt Fanning to photo lab supervisor, Dan Roark to cartography project coordinator, and Mike Flynn to mapping manager. Mark Vidovich was appointed project consultant in the photogrammetry division.
