Home » CAiCE Software Corporation Announces Partnership with FHWA
CAiCE Software Corporation, Tampa, Fla., announced a new cooperative research and development agreement with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to integrate the Interactive Highway Safety Design Model (IHSDM) into CAiCE’s civil software packages. The objective of the agreement is to help insure that IHSDM will be available to roadway planners and designers through CAiCE’s civil engineering software. The agreement includes the development of a software interface between FHWA’s IHSDM and CAiCE, including the extraction of the data required, and the reformatting of the data into the IHSDM data format.
IHSDM is a road safety evaluation software which gives highway planners and designers the ability to evaluate the potential safety impact of specific geometric designs for roads and highways. It is made up of several modules focused on roadway safety and is being developed with an initial focus on two-lane rural highways. Beta testing of IHSDM modules is in progress and public release is scheduled for 2002. Http://www.caice.com
