LizardTech, Inc., Seattle, Wash., announced the release of its MrSID Geo 1.5 for Windows. This offering enables geospatial and imaging professionals to mosaic and encode high-resolution imagery into the MrSID image format. Enhancements in the MrSID Geo 1.5 version include input image and simulated encoding preview window, region of interest image cropping and improved enhanced statistics generation for convenient use in third party viewing applications. New features also include TIFF mosaicking, JPEG with World File (.jgw) image support, ability to launch a MrSID viewer directly inside the encoder and additions to the user interface.

Geospatial users can choose between Desktop or Workstation versions of MrSID Geo 1.5. The Desktop encoder is designed for users who want to encode a single image or set of multiple images up to a maximum input file size of 500MB.
