Lewis and Clark Data Used in Classrooms
The Earth Observing System (EOS) Education Project at the University of Montana partnered with the U.S. Forest Service to collect data relating to the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The Forest Service Region 1 will provide historical and current photographs of the route, as well as historical and scientific information taken by Lewis and Clark. The EOS Project's Lewis and Clark Education Center was formed at UM last year to provide satellite imagery and multimedia productions to teachers in the classroom. The collaborated information will teach K-12 teachers and students about the Corps of Discovery using computer and GIS technologies.
