Tele Atlas North America Inc. , Menlo Park, Calif., hired Paul Lipkinas director of dynamic traveler content (DTC) product development and engineering. Lipkin, who has more than 20 years of experience in systems development, deployment and management, is responsible for leading Tele Atlas’ DTC group, developing new traffic, weather and other dynamic content products, and overseeing engineering and operations.
Layton Hobbs, CP, CMS, joined Woolpert LLP’s Dayton office as photogrammetry group manager and is responsible for monitoring the project activities of the group as well as providing technical assistance and performing project quality assurance/quality control. Hobbs is a certified photogrammetrist and mapping scientist and has experience managing projects involving GIS, topographic mapping, digital orthophoto and satellite imaging, and LiDAR technology.
Ingegneria Dei Sistemi S.p.a. (IDS) , Rome, Italy, and Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions, Huntsville, Ala., have reached an acquisition agreement. IDS will purchase from Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions a select portfolio of aeronautical products, intellectual property and ongoing maintenance contracts, thereby strengthening the focus of the IDS Aeronautical Division. IDS has also entered into a consulting agreement with Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions that provides key personnel that were responsible for developing the acquired products to provide ongoing customer support, maintenance and development services to global customers. Intergraph will continue to distribute the products sold to IDS through Intergraph regional sales offices.
