Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) recently presented Central Arkansas Water (CAW) with a special achievement in GIS award.

The award was presented at the 23rd Annual ESRI User Conference in San Diego and was a direct result of Woolpert's work integrating the system data of Little Rock Municipal Water Works (LRMWW) and North Little Rock Water Department (NLRWD) into a single, CAW-managed geodatabase environment.

Woolpert combined the two disparate GIS environments-NLRWD paper-based mapping and valve cards and LRMWW Arc 7.x coverage files-into a single water geodatabase. Woolpert also analyzed maintenance business processes and created and provided subsequent management tools. The project culminated in an ArcIMS website featuring the water system as well as links to scanned valve and intersection cards.
