Matrox Releases QID Pro Display Controller 4.21.04
Matrox Graphics Inc., a manufacturer of professional graphics solutions, announced the new Quad Information Display (QID) Pro display controller, bringing unprecedented multi-display capabilities, with support for four analog or digital displays from a single chip, to mission-critical environments such as military data walls, simulation and public safety answering points. It is also an ideal graphics platform for servers, bringing increased efficiency to IT managers by enabling them to see and work with more information at once across several displays when controlling multiple servers from a single system.
A single-slot PCI solution, the QID Pro is highly scalable as it can be run alongside other specialized AGP or PCI Matrox display controllers in order to power an extensive amount of displays from a single workstation. What's more, it is fully compatible with the PCI Express architecture.
Featuring the ability to power four analog or digital monitors, at a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200, in 2x2 or 4x1 configurations; genlocking capabilities; 256 MB of on-board DDR unified memory; support for multiple application programming interfaces (APIs) including OpenGL and Microsoft Direct X, a PCI interface with support for 33 MHz and 66 MHz buses; power consumption that is compatible with a standard PCI bus; and high meantime before failure (MTBF), the QID Pro also offers Matrox FanAlert for added system security, which advises the system administrator if the fan malfunctions; Matrox UltraSharp Display Output Technology, for flicker-free, ultra-crisp image quality; and support for various operating systems including Microsoft Windows and Linux.
The QID Pro's unified and certified drivers have gone through Matrox's comprehensive certification process, which puts computer-aided design (CAD) and geographic information systems (GIS) workstation drivers through stringent testing in order to ensure full compatibility and exceptional performance. Furthermore, as with all Matrox display controllers, it is backed by a three-year warranty and specialized product support teams worldwide.
