CEO Jim Taylor to continue as Chairman of the Board.
Intergraph Corporation's Board of Directors announced that CEO Jim Taylor, 58, has announced his intention to retire as CEO. Taylor, who is also Chairman of the Board, will continue to serve as CEO until a successor is named and will stay on to assist in the day-to-day operations until the transition to new leadership is complete. Intergraph's Board of Directors has created a search committee comprised of outside directors and has retained Christian & Timbers, a global executive search firm, to lead the search for a new CEO.
Jim Taylor, who has been with Intergraph since 1969, became CEO in 2000 and Chairman of the Board in 2001. Taylor was responsible for designing the graphics and database software that became the basis for many of Intergraph's software products, and he served as President of the Company's first independent vertical business unit, Intergraph Public Safety. He was appointed CEO at a critical juncture in Intergraph's history and led the company as it exited its hardware operations, eliminated non-core assets, and refocused operations on its core software and services markets - local and national governments; mapping; geographical information systems; earth imaging; public safety; utilities; communications; and plant design and plant life cycle management. Following several years of financial losses, Intergraph has enjoyed six consecutive quarters of profitability from operations.
