Arc Second Inc. announced the appointment of Brian G. Daum as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. He will report directly to Edward R. Barrientos, Arc Second’s president and CEO, and will be responsible for overseeing all operational, engineering and financial functions of the company. Robert B. Stephensonwas named Surveyor of the Year 2001 by theNew Mexico Professional Surveyors. He will be recognized during the NMPS Annual Meeting in Albuquerque, N.M., on March 15, 2002.

GEOD Corporation, Newfoundland, N.J., hiredGary W. Happe, PLS, as vice president of sales. Happe will promote GEOD’s land surveying and photogrammetric mapping services in northeastern states including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
