These photos show some surveyor "art" that was done 25+ years ago when Garry M. George, P.E., was with the Oklahoma National Guard Combat (Heavy) Engineers.
While he was assigned the task of setting grade stakes for a dirt runway, a member of his unit made these figurines. They are made from cut steel nails, washers, welding rod and copper sheet. The pieces are brazed together and are about 3 inches tall. The person at the level is Garry, complete with hat turned backward and cloth flag.
