The new board of directors have met and started planning for the 14th annual GIS in the Rockies Conference. The Board has elected officers, chosen a venue and dates for the meeting and selected a theme. The conference is scheduled for September 18-20, 2001, in Denver, Colo. The theme for the conference will be “Convergence of Information & Geography for Everyone.” The sponsoring societies are the Colorado Section of the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping (ACSM), the Rocky Mountain Region of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Geospatial Information Technology Association (GITA), the Professional Land Surveyors of Colorado (PLSC), and the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA).
