ESRI, Redlands, Calif., announced that the Geography Network, www.geographynetwork.com, is furthering its support for open standards for technologies and data making it easier to publish geographic data on the Internet. The Geography Network is a global network of geographic information users and providers. ESRI has various geoservices, such as ArcIMS software, utilized by the Geography Network. Geography Network supports the Federal Geographic Data Committee’s efforts to create a National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). In addition to the NSDI the Geography Network also supports the Global Spatial Data Infrastructure (GSDI) and Digital Earth. The NSDI, GSDI and Digital Earth are designed to produce and share geographic data.
