Applanix announced that its POS MV product line has been significantly enhanced by the introduction of TrueHeave technology. This improved filtering tool provides the hydrographer with a much more accurate heave estimate even in the most challenging survey conditions. This results in a significant reduction in heave artifacts in survey data, and eliminates the need to tune the heave filter to produce optimal results. In addition, TrueHeave dramatically reduces filter settling time as compared to a traditional heave filter, almost completely eliminating the need for line run ins. This means a savings of several minutes per survey line, and translates into a savings of hours or even days worth of labour and vessel costs.
“The TrueHeave filter allows users to improve the quality of their survey data, and make significant reductions to the cost of the job” remarks Peter Canter, Director of Marine Products for Applanix. “The hydrographic survey industry has been looking for a better solution to the traditional heave filter, and Applanix has again proven that we can provide the answer. Not only have we delivered significant improvements to survey data through TrueHeave technology, but we have also enabled users to save time and money through the use of this system.”
Thales GeoSolutions (Pacific), Inc. agrees after having used the technology to complete hydrographic survey work in Alaska. Doug Lockhart, Chief Scientist at TGPI states “TrueHeave effectively improved our error budget from IHO Order 1 to IHO Special Order while saving us and our customer considerable survey time.”
TrueHeave is available as an option on all new POS MV systems, and is also available as an upgrade to existing units. Visit www.applanix.com/trueheave, or email us at email@example.com, to find out how you can reduce survey costs and improve data quality with TrueHeave.
