Tak Odaresigned as president of Sokkia Corporation, Olathe, Kan.Ed Yamanakahas replaced him as president, having been with Sokkia for 21 years, 14 of which have been in the United States. Yamanaka was formerly president of SOKKIA Singapore and SOKKIA Central and South America.

PCI Geomatics, Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada, appointed Dr. Richard Pollockas director of research and development andArnold Houghamas vice-president of sales and product marketing.

Pollock joined PCI Geomatics in September 2001 with more than 20 years of industry experience. Hougham has been with PCI Geomatics since 1989 and has been involved in product sales for more than 13 years.

Tripod Data Systems, Corvallis, Ore., appointed Tom D. Stevens as national sales manager. Stevens joined TDS as the central and west coast regional sales manager in July 2002. Before that he worked for Topcon for 12 years as the west coast regional sales manager.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) named William Wright, who oversees the structures laboratory at the FHWA Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center, as the agency’s Engineer of the Year for 2002 and recognized him with the Engineering Excellence Award for outstanding professional achievement. Wright is the FHWA’s key technical expert on issues related to the design, fabrication, construction and inspection of structural steel for highways.

Leica Geosystems, Atlanta, Ga., appointedTony Wilsondirector of sales in the southwest region. Wilson’s efforts focus on providing spatial data acquisition products and services that help customers increase their productivity. Wilson spent eight and one half years with Surveyors Service Company (SERVCO) in Costa Mesa, Calif., directly overseeing sales and customer service/support of Leica Geosystems’ surveying and engineering product lines.
