Integration Increases Productivity Inside PCI Geomatics' Newest Geomatica 9 05.08.2003
"Geomatica 9 is a very competitive geo-solution for all PCI Geomatics customers, large or small." states Dr Robert Moses, President and CEO, PCI Geomatics, "Throughout final testing, it became clear in every department that we had reached our design goals and we are ready to unveil our most results-oriented, productivity packed, and well integrated product. Geomatica 9 is full of processing advantages for all users."
With easy movement of spatial information between highly integrated applications, Geomatica 9 is designed to meet the widest range of requirements for today's dynamic geospatial user. Advanced remote sensing capabilities share data seamlessly with spatial analysis, photogrammetry, and cartographic processing tools in order to perform these functions without needing to move to other programs, starting with raw image data and ending with information output.
"Geomatica 9 represents the most remarkable software achievement for PCI Geomatics to date." states Arnold Hougham, Vice President of Sales and Product Marketing for PCI Geomatics, "Previous Geomatica editions laid the groundwork for a strongly integrated geomatics solution. Customers will no longer have to use several packages to perform remote sensing, desktop photogrammetry, GIS, and cartographic tasks. They will be more productive, with fewer errors, by using one: Geomatica 9"
New GIS resources in Geomatica 9 provide stronger tools for advanced spatial analysis which improve remote sensing's effectiveness and satisfies the spatial analyst as well. Geomatica 9 also supplies new technology that makes processing large hyperspectral data files a simple everyday possibility. Innovative and powerful new data compression technology, designed by the Canadian Space Agency, makes working with hyperspectral data faster and more manageable. Other added features include new atmospheric correction algorithms, advanced new cartography features, and improved pan-sharpening capabilities. Greater user flexibility and control is provided through programmable scripting environments, batch processing features, automation tools, and interoperability improvements. Geomatica 9 also includes support for JPEG 2000 and SPOT5. When added up, this release of Geomatica 9 represents a major enhancement of the successful Geomatica product line, first introduced in 2000.
"A pleasing part of our success comes from bringing new customers the best high-value geomatics software solutions." states David Stanley, Vice President of Research and Development for PCI Geomatics, "Most testers were initially struck by the impressive array of new technology advantages. How Geomatica 9 elements interoperate and the increase in productivity that this affords are what will motivate customers to try it themselves."
